Climate change poses a significant threat to global agriculture, impacting crop productivity and food security. The increased frequency and severity of extreme weather events, such as droughts, floods, heatwaves, and cold spells, necessitate the development of climate-resilient crops. Through innovative breeding strategies, we can adapt our agricultural systems to these changing conditions. This review explores the latest advancements in crop breeding techniques, including traditional breeding methods, molecular breeding, and gene editing technologies like CRISPR/Cas9. We discuss the integration of phenotyping and genotyping, the role of genetic diversity, and the importance of breeding for multiple stress resistances. Additionally, we highlight successful case studies and propose future directions for research and policy to support the development and widespread adoption of climate-resilient crops. This comprehensive overview aims to provide insights into the current state of crop breeding and to identify key areas for future innovation and collaboration in the quest to secure global food systems against the impacts of climate change
